Composer, arranger, producer and performer, Anne Dudley is a multi-talented and critically-acclaimed musician.
She has composed and produced soundtracks for dozens of award-winning films and tv shows, and was a founding member of the Art Of Noise. She has contributed string arrangements to many classic albums including “The Lexicon of Love”.
Over the course of a varied career, she has won an Oscar, a Grammy, a Brit and an Ivor Novello. She was musical director for Bill Bailey’s “Remarkable Guide to the Orchestra” which toured in 2009. She composed an opera, “The Doctor’s Tale” with writer Terry Jones, for the Royal Opera House “Opera Shots” season which had six performances in April 2011.
Anne was music producer on the Academy award winning film of “Les Miserables” starring Hugh Jackman and Anne Hathaway.
Anne has been composing music for the splendid adaptation of “Poldark” for BBC television. A soundtrack album was released on the Sony Classical label. The music from series 1 and 2 were nominated for BAFTAs (2016 and 2017).
Anne has provided three arrangements for the Last Night of the Proms – the latest being 4 World War 1 songs for the baritone Gerald Finley and the BBC Symphony Orchestra in 2018. Previously she provided a medley of “Mary Poppins” songs and a Latin American medley for Juan Diego Florez. Anne composed a concert piece for the violinist Joshua Bell entitled “The Man with the Violin” featuring narration and animation. It was premiered in Washington in February 2017 and Ottawa in December 2017.
Her arrangements and two songs appear on ABC’s “Lexicon of love part 2” released to great critical acclaim. Following an appearance at the BBC Proms in the Park a tour took place in the autumn of 2016 in which Anne conducted the orchestra. The final show was at the Royal Albert Hall in April 2017.
With her Art of Noise colleagues, Anne performed at LIverpool’s Sound City Festival in May. A further one-off performance followed at the British Library in March 2018. She has recently completed an album entitled “Anne Dudley Plays The Art of Noise”, exploring the many textures of the acoustic and electric piano. The UK release was in June 2018.
Anne produced an album of folk inspired covers for “Poldark” actress Eleanor Tomlinson. “Tales From Home” went immediately to number 1 in the Folk/Acoustic album charts.
She received an Ivor Novello Award for outstanding contribution to British music in May 2017 and a SACEM award for “Elle”.
