Harry Gregson-Williams joins concert tribute to Ridley Scott

We are happy to announce that composer Harry Gregson-Williams comes to the Film Music Prague Festival in 2019. He will present his music which was written for movies of legendary director Ridley Scott. You will listen to Harry’s music from Kingdom of Heaven, The Martian, Prometheus and Exodus: Gods and Kings. Concert called LEGENDS: RIDLEY SCOTT will be on 3rd February in Forum Karlin. Program also includes music from Alien, 1492: Conquest of Paradise, Thelma and Louise, Hannibal or Gladiator. You can see more informations in the program section here.

8th edition of the festival announced

Save the date! From 1st to 4th February 2019, we will organize 8th edition of the Film Music Prague Festival. Famous composer John Powell, who has written scores for Solo: Star Wars Story, X-men 3 or How to Train Your Dragon franchize,  will be one of our special guests. His concert called “Hollywood meets classics” will launch the program on 1st February. Festival will offer concerts, panel discussions with guests, workshops and many more. We will be back in concert venues like Rudolfinum and Forum Karlin. Stay tuned to find out more!

We would like to thank all visitors who attended 7th edition of the Film Music Prague Festival. This year’s program was massive and it had a great atmosphere because of you. Program included big concerts and additional events like panels, workshops which were situated in Festival Center in Kaiserstejn Palace. For very first time. For your information, more than 6200 people attended the festival in Forum Karlin, Rudolfinum and Festival Center. We performed more than 400 minutes of beautiful film music. We hired 640 professional musicians and finally we welcomed 14 special guests from USA, UK, Greece, Croatia and Austria. It couldn’t be possible without your support and support of our partners. Thank you again!

Festival will remember Jóhann Jóhannsson

Film Music Prague Festival has decided to include a music from visionary composer Jóhann Jóhannsson to the program of True Stories Gala. Jóhansson suddenly died on 9th February in Berlin. We will remember his legacy by suite from biography movie THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING. Jóhann Jóhannsson recieved Golden Globe and Oscar nomination for this score. On Sunday 22nd April, Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra will perform under baton of conductor Chuhei Iwasaki. Kühn choir and violinist Olga Šroubková will be co-performers. Kieboom composed Fanfare of the festival

Film Music Prague Festival is honored to present its official Fanfare which was composed by Matthijs Kieboom. Here is an exclusive excerpt.

“During last year, we were thinking about our own musical Theme. We were searching a composer who would be interested to write a piece. This year we has started to cooperate with amazing Matthijs Kieboom who is one of the best young European composers,” artistic director of the festival Nikola Bojcev said. Full version of the Fanfare will be performed live during the opening concert on 19th April in Forum Karlin. This concert called Goosebumps! The Opening Night includes famous music from Hans Zimmer (Interstellar), Benjamin Wallfisch (It), Lorne Balfe (Genius) or Vangelis (Blade Runner). More about the program here.

Festival has started a cooperation with Le Palais Hotel

Composer Eshkeri new guest of the closing gala

British composer Ilan Eshkeri accepted invitation to the Film Music Prague Festival. He will be a special guest of closing concert called TRUE STORIES GALA (April 22). Eshkeri will present his music from THE YOUNG VICTORIA in Dvorak’s Hall, Rudolfinum. Eshkeri is awarded artist who scored beautiful fantasy movie STARDUST. Ilan eshkeri often cooperates with director Matthew Vaughn as well as with director and actor Ralph Fiennes (biography drama THE INVISIBLE WOMAN and adaptation of Shakespeare’s CORIOLANUS). The closing concert TRUE STORIES GALA will be performed by Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra and Kühn Choir under baton of conductor Chuhei Iwasaki. Tickets still available. Happy New Year

Organizers of the FILM MUSIC PRAGUE FESTIVAL thank you for your support in 2017. And we wish you the best of luck in New Year! We are looking forward to welcome you at 7th Annual of the festival, which will be from 19th to 22nd April 2018. Composers Clint Mansell (The Fountain), Benjamin Wallfisch (Blade Runner 2049), Thomas Bergersen and Nick Phoenix from Two Steps From Hell will be our guests. And this is not a final list! We are preparing five big concerts in cooperation with the best musicians. FILM MUSIC PRAGUE FESTIVAL is Czech unique cultural event. Every year we offer a lot of special projects and premieres. Merethe Soltvedt joins Two Steps concert

Two Steps From Hell ‘live in concert’ will present Norwagian singer MERETHE SOLTVEDT. This amazing artist will be a soloist of the concert. She often cooperates with composers Thomas Jacob Bergersen and Nick Phoenix. You can listen to her wonderful voice on the newest album of Two Steps From Hell – Unleashed. Excerpt from this album will be in the program of concerts, which will be on 20th April 2018. Praga Sinfonietta and Kühn Choir will perform under baton of conductor Petr Pololanik. Benjamin Wallfisch will be a guest of the opening concert

Composer Benjamin Wallfisch will present his music during the opening concert of Film Music Prague 2018. On 19th April in Forum Karlin, Wallfisch will conduct The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra and choir. Program includes suites from current science-fiction movie Blade Runner 2049, a successful horror It, a biography drama Hidden Figures, thriller A Cure for Wellness as well as scores from Inception, Interstellar or Sherlock Holmes: The Game of Shadows. Golden Globe and Emmy nominated composer Benjamin Wallfisch’s career spans over a decade and 60 feature films. He has composed music for such legendary film makers as Steven Spielberg, Rupert Wyatt, Gore Verbinksi and Lars von Trier, and has worked on scores that have been recognized with multiple awards and nominations at the Academy Awards, Golden Globes, Ivor Novello Awards, BAFTAs and World Soundtrack Awards.
